Process

A. J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering is proud to partner with Leathers & Associates to design A J.¬ís Playground.  The Leathers process begins with Design Day, a day-long event during which a Leathers playground engineer leads students in designing their playground and creates a blue print of the playground for all to celebrate. Soon thereafter, based on the design the students create, community volunteers come together to build the playground over a five day period.  Find out more about Leathers & Associates and see some of the custom playgrounds they have designed throughout the country at www.leathersassociates.com.

A Playground Steering Committee has been formed to facilitate this process.  We seek to organize volunteers, collect tools, gather materials, raise funds, and broadly publicize the event.  The committee encourages anyone who is interested in getting involved to contact Ansel Sanders at wsanders@greenville.k12.sc.us or 864-452-0512.  Join us!  We need you!
